In recent hours, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called the situation in the eastern Donbass region "extremely difficult" and argued that the regular supply of arms to Ukraine was the best strategy to maintain global stability.
Zelensky said that "the full force of the Russian army was launched to attack Donbass. In Lyman, Popasna, Severodonetsk, Slovyansk, the invaders want to destroy everything, writes the BBC on Wednesday.
"Therefore, the supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine - MLRS, tanks, anti-ship and other weapons, is the best investment in maintaining stability in the world and preventing many serious crises that Russia is still planning or has provoked already", he added.
Zelensky's comments come as Ukrainian defense officials warn that Russia's war in eastern Ukraine is now at its most intense and could potentially determine the country's fate.
