Three tourists have been found dead in Mexico after they were shot in the head and their bodies dumped in a well, Mexican authorities have confirmed.
Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson, 30 and 33, and their American friend Jack Carter Rhoad, 30, disappeared on April 27 in Ensenada, Mexico.
Relatives of the three victims have identified their bodies on Sunday, the BBC reports.
Mexican officials believe the men were attacked when they tried to stop the theft of their truck.
According to the state prosecutor, Maria Andrade, the attackers wanted to steal the tires of the tourists' vehicle, who, due to their resistance, were shot in the head.
Their bodies were found in a 4-meter-deep well, about 6 kilometers from the site of the attack.
