Updated (11:19) - The suspect for the shooting attack in Munich on Thursday morning has died, announced the German Minister of the Interior, Nancy Faeser.
The suspect was shot by the police after the incident, which happened near the city's Nazi documentation center, which is located near the Israeli consulate general.
Faeser has stated that there was a "serious incident" in Munich and that the protection of Israeli institutions is the highest priority.

A major police operation is underway in Munich, Germany on Thursday morning in response to an incident near the city's Nazi documentation center.
"Süddeutsche Zeitung" reported earlier on Thursday that a suspect opened fire at the Nazi documentation center in Munich.
The Munich police did not provide details of the incident, writing on social networks that the police shot a suspicious person.
The center is located next to the Israeli consulate general.
In a video circulating on social networks, multiple shots are heard.
There are currently no reports of any other suspects in connection with the operation, police said, adding that a large force is at the scene.
Israel's Foreign Ministry has announced that the consulate in Munich was closed when the shooting occurred and that no consulate personnel were affected by the incident.
