Rail workers in Germany have called a 50-hour strike after failing to reach an agreement on wages with Deutsche Bahn.
The strike will begin at 22:00 on Sunday, May 14 and will bring Germany's rail network to a standstill.
The German transport union EVG represents around 230 rail and bus workers from 50 companies, including Deutsche Bahn.
Local transport, including the U-Bahn and tram, will continue to operate. Deutsche Bahn chief of staff Martin Seiler called the strike crazy, unfounded and completely excessive.
EVG is demanding higher wages for its members to combat the rising rate of inflation.

Deutsche Bahn did not meet the union's demand for a 12 percent wage increase. Negotiations between EVG and Deutsche Bahn are expected to take place at the end of May.
In Germany, there have recently been strikes at the country's airports as well.
