Vance: The war in Ukraine will not end anytime soon

US Vice President JD Vance has stated that the war in Ukraine "will not end anytime soon", during an interview with Fox News. 

Vance said the question facing the United States administration now is how it can help Russia and Ukraine "find middle ground" to end the conflict that began more than three years ago, "BBC" reported.

But Vance added that reaching an agreement and stopping the conflict "will depend on Russia and Ukraine." 

He made these comments shortly after Washington and Kiev signed an agreement to share profits from Ukraine's rare earth minerals in exchange for future US security assistance.

Vance has also defended Trump's approach to the war in Ukraine. 

"Of course they (the Ukrainians) are angry that they are being invaded. But are we going to continue to lose thousands and thousands of soldiers for a few miles of territory on one side or the other?" Vance added.
