About 123.000 refugees have left western parts of Myanmar since August 25, UNHCR announced today.
"The data is very worrying," UNHCR spokeswoman Vivien Ten said, adding that the number of refugees is growing very quickly.
In Bangladesh, the reception camps, mainly for members of the Rohingya Muslim minority, have no more capacity, humanitarian workers warn, reports KosovaPress.
UNHCR has appealed for help, with the plea that as many countries as possible accept the refugees.
Otherwise, a large number of refugees still continue to be found on the border with Bangladesh. The number of refugees who have reached Bangladesh from Myanmar has increased from 87.000 to 123.000 since yesterday.
The Rohingya Muslim extremist group, armed with rifles, attacked Myanmar's security forces on August 25. More than 400 people were killed in the fighting in 10 days.

The Rohingya in Myanmar are considered foreigners and their citizenship is not recognized in the country, which is home to 95 percent of the Buddhist population.
The Rohingya live in the northern parts of Rakhine state in Myanmar. They are Muslims by faith and speak the Rohingya language. There are a total of about two million, of which about 1.300.000 live in Myanmar.
