Ukraine bans the use of Telegram on official devices

telegram

Ukraine has banned the use of Telegram on official devices of government and military personnel, as well as defense sector employees.

The National Security and Defense Council has said this was done to "minimize" threats from Russia, which has launched an invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the BBC reported.

Telegram is widely used by the government and military in Ukraine and Russia.

The council said the intelligence chief, Kyrylo Budanov, presented credible evidence that Russian special services have the ability to access Telegram users, even when messages are hidden.

The ban will only be for official devices, not personal phones.
