Kiev's representative called on the United Nations' top court on Monday to order Russia to stop its devastating invasion of Ukraine.
The International Court of Justice is holding a hearing on the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Russia has refused to participate in the session.
The representative of Ukraine, Anton Korynevych, has asked the court to ban Russia.
"Russia must be stopped and the court must play a role in stopping it," said Korynevych.
Ukraine has asked the court to order Russia to "immediately suspend military operations" launched on February 24.
Russia has said that this attack is to prevent and punish the genocide in the separatist regions of Luhansk and Donetsk in eastern Ukraine.

Korynevych has said that Moscow's claims of genocide are terrible lies.
"The fact that Russia's seats are empty speaks volumes. They are not here in this Court of Justice. They are on the battlefield waging an aggressive war against my country," said Korynevych.
The decision on Ukraine's request is expected to be made within a few days.
