Uganda is facing a new wave of coronavirus

At a vaccination center against COVID-19 on the outskirts of Uganda's capital, people have been waiting since six in the morning, hoping that there will be enough doses of vaccines for them too.

Despite the rising interest of Ugandans to get vaccinated, many who are waiting in line for the second dose are returning disappointed.

Uganda has struggled to secure vaccines to meet the goal of vaccinating 22 million citizens at a time when rich countries are reluctant to share vaccine doses with poorer countries. The country has provided only two million doses of "AstraZeneca" and another 300 thousand doses of the Chinese vaccine "Sinovac".
