An Israeli airstrike has killed three Turkish citizens who attempted to cross the Lebanon-Israel border illegally, Turkey's Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday.
"We condemn in the strongest terms this unlawful attack that resulted in the death of our citizens," the ministry's statement said, without mentioning where the incident occurred, Reuters news agency reported.
The ministry has announced that procedures have begun for the return of the troops to Turkey.
"As we have emphasized on every occasion, Israel must immediately stop its aggressive policies that ignore human life and cause increased tensions in our region," the ministry added in the statement.
