French far-right leaders called for early elections on Tuesday after their meeting with Prime Minister François Bayrou, who faces a no-confidence vote.

Letter to the Reader — Why We're Asking for Your Support ContributeOpposition parties have already pledged to reject the austerity budget, and Bayrou is expected to lose a confidence vote on September 8, pushing France to the brink of another political crisis.
Speaking after meeting with the prime minister, Le Pen said her party did not trust Bayrou and that dissolution along with subsequent new elections was the "only democratic solution" to resolve the political crisis.
