United States President Donald Trump has told Axios that he will ask Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to retaliate against Iran for its missile attacks.
"I'm going to call Bibi and tell him not to retaliate. Each side did their own thing. Israel did theirs and Iran did theirs. We don't need another one. We're very close to a final deal with Iran. It's going to be a good deal and I don't want it to fall apart because of what's happening now," Trump said.
Trump said that if Israel attacks then the conflict will only continue "for another 47 years - or for the next 3000 years," Axios reports.
And Axios journalist Barak Ravid wrote on X that Trump has already had a phone conversation with Netanyahu, citing a US official.
Iran's Foreign Ministry said the response would be devastating if Iran retaliated.

It said it had struck several military targets in the north. It said the attacks came after repeated violations of a ceasefire agreed upon between the US, Iran and Israel in April.
The ceasefire is in effect from April 17.
