Trump on the memorandum of understanding with Iran: It's over

US President Donald Trump has said that the memorandum of understanding that brought about a ceasefire with Iran "is over", following attacks carried out by both countries in recent hours.

From the NATO Summit in Turkey, Trump said he "no longer wants to deal with the Iranians" whom he called "scum."

"As far as I know, it's just a waste of time to deal with them. They're liars... There's something wrong with them. They're weird. As far as I know, it's over," he added, calling the Iranians "sick and violent."

The two countries have been exchanging fire in recent hours over the Strait of Hormuz and US bases in the Middle East, despite a ceasefire reached weeks earlier that had provided a path towards a final peace agreement.
