US President Donald Trump has said the US "does not need" its forces to operate on the ground inside Iran due to the success of its months-long bombing campaigns in the country.
"We don't need troops on the ground right now," the president said in an interview with the New York Post that was published on Wednesday.

He said he had reached a dilemma about ending the war: "Should we sign an agreement or do it differently?"
"And the other way is not good," he declared.
Trump has said he would prefer to end the war "the good way."
