Letter to the Reader — Why We're Asking for Your Support Contribute"As our next Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke will lead efforts to protect American farmers, who are truly the backbone of our country," Trump said in a statement.
Her appointment marks the end of a whirlwind, sometimes dramatic, nominations to lead executive agencies.
Who is Brooke Rollins?
Rollins has been a key Trump ally for many years, as co-founder and president of the America First Policy Institute, a pro-Trump think tank.
A former White House aide during the president-elect's first administration, she served as director of the Office of American Innovation and acting director of the Domestic Policy Council.
Having grown up on a farm, Rollins was early involved with the Future Farmers of America, in addition to 4H, a statewide agricultural club.
She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural development and later worked as a lawyer.
If confirmed by the Senate, she would oversee farm subsidies, federal nutrition programs, meat inspections and other aspects of the nation's farm, food and forestry industries.
She would also play a key role in renegotiating the trade deal between the US, Canada and Mexico, which could include Trump's promised tariffs.
The cabinet team is complete
Donald Trump has so far chosen these people for key roles in his new cabinet: Marco Rubio as Secretary of State, Scott Bessent as Secretary of the Treasury, Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense, Pam Bondi as Attorney General, Doug Burgum as Secretary of the Interior, Brooke Rollins as Secretary of Agriculture, Howard Lutnick as Secretary of Commerce, Lori Chavez-DeRemer as Secretary of Labor, Robert F Kennedy Jr as Secretary of Health and human services, Scott Turner as Secretary of Housing, Sean Duffy as Secretary of Transportation, Chris Wright as Secretary of Energy, Linda McMahon as Secretary of Education, Doug Collins as Secretary of Veterans Affairs, and Kristi Noem as Secretary of Homeland Security.
Rollins' appointment marks the end of Trump's picks for his cabinet, a group of 15 advisers who each head a bureaucratic department within the US government.
Each nominee will have to be confirmed by the Senate.
