The establishment of the board, chaired by Trump, is a key step in the United Nations-backed US plan to demilitarize and rebuild Gaza, which was devastated by two years of war between Israel and the militant group Hamas.
Described by Trump as "the largest and most prestigious board ever assembled," the committee will include former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Argentine President Javier Miel and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi have also received invitations to join, according to statements from them or their offices.
Meanwhile, Israel objected late Saturday to the composition of the steering team that will play a role in overseeing the next steps in Gaza as the ceasefire moves into a challenging second phase.
According to Israel's complaint to its close ally in Washington, the executive committee on Gaza "was not coordinated with Israel and is contrary to its policy."
