At least 20 people have died as a result of flash floods in China, state broadcaster CCTV has reported.
Eight people have died in Sichuan province while 30 others are missing after heavy flooding in the village of Xinhua in the southwest of the country, AP reports.
The disaster occurred around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, damaging over 40 houses and affecting 1,254 residents in the village, according to local authorities.
Rescue efforts are ongoing, while roads and communications have been partially restored.
Elsewhere in northwestern Shaanxi province on Friday, a bridge collapse left 12 people dead, while rescuers are still trying to find 31 others who remain missing.
