At least 10 people have been killed and 46 others injured, including five children, after a new wave of Russian missile attacks on Kiev.

This was the second attack on the Ukrainian capital in a week, the BBC reported on Monday.

The news was announced by the head of the Kiev military administration, Timur Tkachenko, who said that rescue teams were continuing operations in more than 20 affected locations. According to him, the rockets hit multi-storey residential buildings in two districts of the city.

Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced that Russian ballistic missiles hit several buildings in the capital, causing fires in residential complexes. Warehouses and a car repair shop were also damaged.

The attacks came just hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that Russia was preparing another massive attack on Kiev.

He said intelligence services had signaled a second wave of attacks, following Thursday's bombings that killed at least 30 people.

The latest attacks come on the eve of the NATO summit in Turkey, where Zelensky is expected to hold talks with United States President Donald Trump.
