Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to visit the White House next week to discuss tariffs recently imposed by US President Donald Trump, three Israeli officials confirmed to Reuters news agency on Saturday.
The two leaders had spoken by phone on Thursday, with Netanyahu currently on an official visit to Hungary.
In addition to tariffs, other issues reportedly up for discussion are the war in Gaza and Iran's nuclear program.
As of the latest decision on new trade measures, goods of Israeli origin face tariffs of 17 percent. The United States is Israel's closest ally and also its largest trading partner.
Netanyahu will be the first foreign leader to meet with Trump to negotiate a deal that would remove tariffs. This will be his fourth trip to the US since the start of the Gaza war.
