An Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon has killed three journalists who were reporting on the escalating conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

Hezbollah's al-Manar television reported that its longtime correspondent, Ali Shoeib, was killed during the attack in the south.

The Israeli military stated that they targeted Shoeib, claiming that he was a Hezbollah intelligence operative, but they did not present any evidence for this.

Beirut-based pan-Arab television station Al-Mayadeen reported that journalist Fatima Ftouni was killed in the same attack in the southern Jezzine district, along with her brother Mohammed, who worked as a cameraman.

According to reports, she was on live broadcast moments before she was hit.

Senior officials in Lebanon condemned the attack, with President Joseph Aoun calling it a grave crime.
