Two weeks after floods wreaked havoc in the east, Spain has been put on alert as torrential rains are warned that could bring more flooding.
The eastern and southern Mediterranean areas are again seen as vulnerable. The meteorological agency of Spain, Aemet, has raised the alarm for the regions of Valencia, Catalonia, Andalusia and the Balearic Islands, the BBC reports.
Aemet warns of rain and storms that could be "very strong and torrential".
It has raised the readiness level to the second highest level.
Precautionary measures are being taken in many areas of Valencia, with school hours and sporting activities suspended in some towns and sandbags piled up to protect Aldaia's city centre.
