The Supreme Court has convicted the elected president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, for "money for silence", but without any punishment (prison or fine) for the 34 charges, as expected, reports the BBC.

Judge Juan Merchan had previously warned of this type of punishment for Trump.

"This case has been a very terrible experience, and I think it is a setback for New York and its judicial system," the president-elect said during the hearing.

Trump was convicted of falsifying business records after allegedly making a $130 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Trump through his lawyer gave this payment to the porn star to keep quiet before the 2016 election, after claiming to have had sexual relations with the new US president.
