The United States of America (US) is working to clarify the downing of the Russian plane, the White House said in a statement on Wednesday, adding that there are no detailed details on what happened in Belgorod.
"We are doing our best to get more details and information on what happened," said National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, adding that they currently do not have much information.
At least 74 people have died after a Russian military transport plane carrying Ukrainian prisoners crashed.
The plane crashed in the Belgorod area, on the border with Ukraine, and the Ukrainian authorities have not taken responsibility for its crash.
The moment of the plane crash has been published on the Internet.
