Around 80 migrants were rescued at sea by British authorities on Thursday after a small boat got into trouble while crossing the English Channel from France.
The coastguard confirmed it had dispatched two helicopters to the incident, while the Royal National Lifeboat Institute dispatched lifeboats.
"The search is now complete with all people accounted for and returned to land," a Coast Guard spokesman said.
The issue of how to stop migrants from making the dangerous crossing across the Channel is at the forefront of Britain's general election campaign.
Although the Conservative government has been tough on restricting immigration, the numbers making the crossing are increasing.
The Home Office said 34 people made the journey on a boat on Wednesday, bringing the total number of crossings this year to 10,779.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak pledged to "stop the ships" when he took office in October 2022.
