The death toll from a shooting at a school near Bangkok has risen to at least eight people, after a 12-year-old student died in hospital on Saturday from serious injuries, the AP reports.
Meanwhile, 14 people remain hospitalized, seven of them in critical condition, Thailand's Health Ministry said. Most of the injured are aged 12 to 14.
The bodies of eight victims were taken by their families to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Bangkok. Among them are five school staff, the 14-year-old suspected attacker and his two grandparents.
The shooting occurred at around 10am on Friday at Debsirin Nonthaburi School, in Nonthaburi province, northwest of Bangkok.
A 14-year-old student opened fire on school grounds and then allegedly killed himself. Authorities said he is also suspected of killing his two grandparents at the family home earlier in the morning.
The head of the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Wiroon Supasingsiripreecha, said that most of the victims had suffered fatal wounds to vital areas of the body, mainly the chest or head.

According to some reports, the 14-year-old, who lived with his grandparents, had been showing signs of school-related stress. However, relatives told Thai media that they were unaware of any problems he might have been facing.
The school, which has around 3,000 students aged 12 to 18, has announced that classes will be suspended from August 10 to 14.
