The death toll from the earthquake in Morocco reaches 2.901

Many survivors of the devastating earthquake that struck Morocco spent the fourth night in difficult conditions in makeshift shelters built in the country, while the death toll has risen to 2.

Villagers in devastated mountain areas expressed frustration at not being helped by authorities after Friday night's powerful earthquake hit the High Atlas Mountains.

More than 5 people have been injured in the deadliest earthquake to hit Morocco since 500 and the strongest in more than a century.

Rescue teams from Spain, Great Britain and Qatar have already come to the aid of local ones in the search for possible survivors, while Italy, Belgium, France and Germany said their offers of help had not yet been approved by the Moroccan authorities.

The situation has been qualified as more depressing for the residents of remote areas, blocked by landslides as a result of the earthquake.
