"Pfizer" has announced on Wednesday that the final results from the last phase of testing its vaccine against COVID-19 have shown effective results of 95 percent. The company has added that it will apply for authorization for emergency use in a few days.
According to safety data for two months, the vaccine of the well-known manufacturer, which cooperated with the German partner "BioNTech", has produced efficient results in all ages and in all ethnic groups, and has not had any major side effects.
The company has said this means the immunization could work worldwide.
The efficiency of the elderly, over 65 years old, as the group most at risk from the virus, was over 94 percent.
The final analysis comes just a week after initial test results showed the vaccine was more than 90 percent effective.

Meanwhile, the company has shown that 3.8 percent of participants showed signs of fatigue after receiving the second dose of the vaccine.
