A town in Poland is encouraging Elon Musk to buy a 13th-century castle and turn it into his European headquarters, "AP" agency reports.
The mayor of Głogówek, Piotr Bujak, said on Monday that he has sent letters to the companies of the world's richest man, Elon Musk, urging him to buy the castle located in the Polish city.
No price has been announced and Musk has not responded to the offer so far.
Bujak told the Associated Press that he saw media reports in Europe that the American billionaire is looking for a location, possibly a castle in Italy, to turn into the center of his operations in Europe.
Głogówek Castle in southwestern Poland has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages, and was briefly the capital of Poland in the 17th century. The famous composer Ludwig van Beethoven also wrote musical works there.
"The castle has a very good atmosphere and is a perfect place for big things," said Bujak.
The area has a rich tradition of wine production.
"We feel no worse than Tuscany. We have a perfect climate and this is the best place on Earth," said Bujak.
The picturesque location of Glogowek is within driving distance of European capitals such as Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Bratislava and Warsaw. There is even a helicopter landing site at the castle.
The castle requires complete renovation and is in need of a private investor.
