The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, held his first meeting abroad since he launched the invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
He is attending the Caspian States Summit in Turkmenistan's Ashgabat territory, Reuters reported on Wednesday, calling the summit important for the region.
He added that this is the first meeting of this kind since the pandemic, until the former president of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, gave two swords as a gift.
"The summit of the Caspian countries is an important event for our countries, for the entire region. I am sure that it will be useful", declared Putin.
In addition to Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkenistan are also participating in this summit.
