Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a phone call with US President Donald Trump, during which he called for a reduction in tensions in the Middle East, the Saudi Arabian state news agency announced on Sunday.
Earlier, sources told CNN that during the conversation, the Crown Prince had expressed concern about American plans to strike Iran.
The Crown Prince "stressed the need to prioritize dialogue in order to reduce tensions, as well as the importance of making every possible effort to achieve calm, which would pave the way for diplomatic solutions," the Saudi Press Agency reported.
CNN reported that Trump spoke with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia on Saturday, according to four people familiar with the matter and a regional source.
Several people briefed on the situation said that, during the conversation, the Crown Prince had raised concerns about plans for possible attacks on Iran.
Meanwhile, Trump has called off the strikes, citing progress in talks.
