Peskov: Territorial concessions are not an option

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday that Ukrainian territories under Russian occupation are "non-negotiable" at the negotiating table, categorically ruling out the possibility of territorial concessions, the BBC reported.

"The territories that have become part of Russia, which are included in the Constitution of our country, are an indivisible part. This is a fact that absolutely cannot be denied or discussed," Peskov said.

This could also suggest that Russia intends to continue fighting until it has occupied all four regions of Ukraine that Russia claims as its own. Under the Russian Constitution, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia are part of Russia, although Russia does not fully control them.

Peskov's statements are in line with those of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who had similarly suggested that Russia is aiming to fully control all four Ukrainian regions.
