Five people have died and dozens more have been injured after the fires engulfed several areas between the Turkish cities of Diyarbakir and Mardin.
The authorities have said that the fire spread due to the strong wind and that after many efforts they managed to bring it under control.
"Five people lost their lives and 44 others were injured by the fire, 10 of whom are in serious condition," wrote the Minister of Health, Fahrettin Koca, adding that 35 ambulances were sent to the scene.
The Minister of the Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, said that the fire started late on Thursday and then spread quickly. He said that the teams are still working in the affected areas.
