The former president of the United States of America, Barack Obama, has returned to the presidential campaigns, addressing harsh criticism to his successor in the White House and strongly supporting the former vice president.
Speaking to Democratic supporters gathered in Philadelphia, Obama criticized Trump for his response to the pandemic, which has killed more than 220 Americans and infected millions more, including the president himself.
On this occasion, he said that "Trump is not a president who will protect the Americans, and he has not been able to take even basic actions to protect himself."
Obama, who entered the White House with the message of hope and change, has said that progress cannot always succeed, but this, according to him, should not be a reason not to vote.
His first campaign appearance for the November 3 election came at a time when his former competitor, Joe Biden, has significantly deepened his lead in the polls over rival Trump.
