Nine dead in Canada festival incident

Canadian authorities have announced that at least nine people have died as a result of an incident when a man drove a car into a crowd at a festival in Canada.

The man has been identified as a 30-year-old man.

"So far, we can confirm that nine people have died after a man drove a car through a crowd at the Lapu Lapu Festival," Vancouver police said.

"Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragic incident," the statement further said.

Police previously said they did not believe the case was a terrorist attack, while the exact motives are not yet known.
