Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar has said that the majority in the Israeli Government will support the new ceasefire agreement with Gaza and the release of hostages.

"I know that there is a majority in the government that supports the agreement, and I hope that we will reach the agreement," Sa'ar said at a press conference on Tuesday.

Hamas is expected to release 33 hostages during the first phase of the deal, which would take place during the first 42 days of the ceasefire.

Sa'ar said that negotiations for the second phase will be "more complicated."

An Israeli official said Monday that Israel was prepared to implement the deal, but that the agreement must first pass through the security cabinet and the cabinet. The government must also give opponents of the deal time to take it to the Supreme Court, the official added.
