French President Emmanuel Macron called the killing of a teacher in the suburbs of Paris an "Islamic terrorist attack" on Friday.
A gunman slashed the throat of a history teacher with a knife, in an attack that French police are treating as terrorism.
A police source has announced that the murder may be related to the case when the teacher had shown a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad to the students in his class, the BBC reports. The attacker was shot dead by the police.
Macron has said that this teacher was killed because he "taught the students freedom of expression". "They will not win... we will act", he said.
Meanwhile, the French police arrested nine people after the incident, to investigate whether the attacker had acted alone or in a group with someone else.
