Machado, who last month accepted the Nobel Peace Prize in Norway, wrote on Platform X that Venezuela will be the US's "main ally" on issues of security, energy, democracy and human rights.

Letter to the Reader — Why We're Asking for Your Support Contribute"Venezuelan freedom is near and soon we will celebrate in our land. We will cry, pray and hug as a family, because our children will return home," she wrote.
These statements come after Machado had also welcomed the initial news of the American intervention on January 3, declaring that "the hour of freedom had come."
