Russia will continue to target sites used by the Ukrainian military, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said, Reuters reported on Sunday.
The Russian top diplomat made this statement after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia had carried out over 70 attacks in one day.
Lavrov added that the deadly missile attack on a residential building in Kiev last week "was absolutely not a civilian target."
"We will continue to target the sites that are being used by the Ukrainian military, by some foreign mercenaries and by instructors that the Europeans officially sent to help target Russian civilian sites," Lavrov told CBS in an interview recorded last Thursday.
The attack in Kiev that left at least 12 dead prompted a major reaction from US President Donald Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Vladimir, STOP!" Trump wrote on his social network.
Zelensky said on Sunday that the situation is difficult, with the war taking place on several fronts.
