China has conducted military exercises using "robot wolves," amid concerns it may be preparing to invade Taiwan.
The People's Liberation Army has said it is testing a new warfare tactic involving the use of robots, the DailyMail reported.
Footage has emerged of so-called "robot wolves" being used in coastal assault training. The four-legged devices are being developed with the aim of replacing human soldiers to reduce casualties in war.
These robots are able to pass through barbed wire and other obstacles with ease, allowing the military to use them similarly to drones, which have become an essential tactic in warfare.
According to Chinese media, the equipment can be fired with precision and work in difficult terrain.
Weighing 70 kilograms, the robots can shoot targets up to 100 meters away.
