China and Russia react to Trump's accusations about North Korea

Russia and China have shown their positions after the statements of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, that these two countries are doing nothing to stop North Korea's ambitions around nuclear weapons.

North Korea, during the past week, has successfully tested an intercontinental ballistic missile, which is said to have the capacity to reach the entire US territory, so President Trump has said through Twitter that he is "very disappointed" with China, which is doing "nothing" to help the USA, to punish Pyongyang.

"We see these as unreasonable efforts by the US and a number of other countries, which almost blame Moscow and Beijing, for Pyongyang's nuclear ambitions," said the Russian Foreign Ministry.

According to this ministry, "it has been the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China that have created a joint map that excludes any use of force or the threat of its use and provides for a comprehensive solution to all the problems of the Korean peninsula, including the nuclear problem, through diplomatic methods".

This ministry has called on all parties to resume the dialogue "immediately".

China has also reacted to the US accusations, saying that Washington and Pyongyang bear the "primary responsibility" for such an escalation of tensions.

According to the Chinese ambassador to the UN, Liu Jieyi, both of these countries have ignored the calls of the UN Security Council to overcome tensions and start new negotiations, according to the proposals of Beijing and Moscow.
