At least four people have died and dozens more are missing after an avalanche hit a team of climbers high in the Himalayas, the BBC reports.
34 trainees and seven instructors were training navigation when they were hit while descending from the mountaintop in the northern state of Uttarakhand.
Eight people are believed to have been rescued and the rest are trapped in a crevasse, rescuers say.
Bad weather is hampering the search.
Local media reports say the death toll could rise significantly.
The group consisted of trainees from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. It is said that they were returning from Mount Draupadi Danda-2 (5670 meters high) when the avalanche occurred.

Authorities were alerted around 9:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday.
"We have confirmation of four deaths out of 33 people who have been trapped. Eight of them have already been rescued and the rest are trapped in a crevasse," said Ridhim Aggarwal from the State Disaster Response Force.
Rescue efforts will continue until weather permits.
