Canada has authorized the use of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine for children between the ages of 12-15.
It is the first country in the world to authorize the use of the vaccine for people of this age, writes the BBC.
The Ministry of Health made the decision based on data from the third phase of clinical trials in children.
Last month, Pfizer said trials of its vaccine in children aged 12-15 showed 100 percent efficacy and a strong immune response.
The risk of children getting sick or dying from the coronavirus is small, and during the pandemic they rarely sought hospital treatment.
