The CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, who is also the richest man in the world, has announced that he will donate 98.5 million dollars in 2019 to 32 organizations that help shelter families.
The billionaire's charity foundation, 'Bezos Day 1 Fund', has announced that it has started the procedures, reports KTV.
Bezos launched the foundation in 2018, pledging two billion dollars to fund it.
The foundation has two defined goals, namely financing organizations that help homeless families and building pre-school institutes.
Donations this year went to 32 groups, in 23 countries. They were worth between 1.25 and 5 million US dollars.
Last year, Bezos gave $97.5 million to organizations that help the homeless.
Donations were given to 24 organizations in 16 countries.
Jeff Bezos has an estimated net worth of $109 billion, making him the richest man in the world.
Bill Gates is close behind, and the two have changed positions on the richest list in recent days as the share price of Amazon and Microsoft has fluctuated.
While the rivalry has increased more after the Pentagon awarded Microsoft a contract of 10 billion dollars.
And, the company Amazon also applied there, which has complained that it has been politically harmed by the Trump Administration.
