The spokesman of the Israeli army, Daniel Hagari, has announced that dozens of militants of the Hamas group have been killed in Rafah, while the offensive continues there.

"The Israel Defense Forces are continuing their operation against Hamas in Rafah as part of our efforts to defeat Hamas and bring all the hostages home," Hagari said, reports the Associated Press.

Israel on Saturday ordered Palestinians in several other parts of the southern city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip to leave and go to what it calls expanded humanitarian zones in Al-Mawasi.

The United Nations has warned that the planned full-scale occupation of Rafah would further cripple humanitarian operations and cause the death toll to rise.
