The number of deaths from the coronavirus in Iran has set a record. On Sunday alone, 434 cases of death were recorded, the Ministry of Health said.
The deaths were announced by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, Sima Sadat Lari, through a statement on television. She said that the number of registered cases with COVID-19 has gone from 7.719 to 620.491, Reuters writes, KOHA reports.
The head of the Health Council in Iran, Mohammadreza Zafarghandi, after showing the numbers, said that Iran had reached a "catastrophic number of deaths".
"Thousands of health workers have been infected with the virus and according to our statistics, 300 of them have died", said Zafaraghandi.
