Warning sirens were sounded in Bahrain on Saturday and a security alert was sent to phones of citizens in Doha, Qatar.
"The security threat level has increased," the warning said. "Everyone should stay indoors, avoid going outside, and stay away from windows and exposed areas in order to protect public safety."

Almost simultaneously with this announcement, Iranian state media reported that a missile and drone attack had been launched towards Qatar and Bahrain.
