The rejection came just hours after Trump announced he would send representatives to Pakistan for talks and warned that the US could take military action if Iran did not accept the conditions set by Washington.

According to IRNA, Iranian authorities justify their absence from the talks with what they describe as excessive demands from the US and constant changes in positions by Washington.

Tehran has no current plans to participate in the next round of talks with the US, several Iranian officials have said, the BBC reported.

But so far, no named Iranian official has confirmed or denied whether Iran will join a new round of talks, even though it has been hours since Trump announced that a US delegation would soon be in Pakistan.
