Iran's ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, told an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on Friday that Israel's "barbaric and criminal attack" had killed 78 people, most of whom were civilians.
According to him, most of those killed were women and children.
He said that Israel committed an act of aggression by firing on civilian centers.
"These atrocities constitute clear acts of state terrorism and flagrant violations of international law," Iravani said.
He stated that 320 people were also injured.
