A 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon has come into effect. The ceasefire came into effect at around 23 p.m.

Shortly before that, during the day, Israel and Hezbollah continued their attacks.

The ceasefire was announced by US President Donald Trump. It was welcomed by the Lebanese president, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it a historic opportunity for peace.

Trump has said that Hezbollah, which has fought Israel in Lebanon, is included in the ceasefire.

Netanyahu, meanwhile, has said that Israeli troops will remain in the "security zone" in southern Lebanon.
