Hamas has returned the bodies of four more Israeli hostages, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced, while identification work is underway.
The Red Cross received the remains in coffins and handed them over to the Israeli army late Tuesday evening.
The transfer came after Israel warned it would limit aid to Gaza until Hamas returned the bodies of all 28 dead hostages. The Palestinian armed group handed over 20 live and four dead hostages on Monday.
The first four dead hostages released by Hamas on Monday have been identified by Israel as Daniel Peretz, 22, Yossi Sharabi, 53, Guy Illouz, 26, and Bipin Joshi, 23, a Nepalese national.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) office said the identification process for the last four hostages is underway.
US President Donald Trump's ceasefire plan, which was accepted by both Israel and Hamas, stipulated that the handover of all 48 hostages would be completed by noon on Monday.
While all the live hostages were returned, pressure is mounting on Hamas and the Israeli government over the remains of the 20 hostages that Hamas has yet to repatriate.
Palestinians are increasingly concerned that a delay in the return of troops from Hamas could bring uncertainty to the future of the ceasefire.
